Finding Time to Exercise
Our schedules today are increasingly busy with work, social events, and every day errands. How do we find an hour or two a couple days a week to exercise? We know that it is important to walk, stretch, and ideally exercise in a way that strengthens our health and heart (i.e. cardio or toning exercises). Why is it that we don’t exercise when we can, especially considering how important it is?
Let’s explore different ways to overcome this ‘mind block’: We may be thinking the overwhelming thought that we have to schedule several weeks in advance to attend group exercise classes or physical training instead of simply deciding each day to exercise, over and over again.
What if we set out each morning to find time just for the day at hand to exercise? If ‘busy-ness’ overcomes us on a certain day, then we have flexibility to step into that important emergency. The next day we have the ability to re-assess and take a potentially overwhelming decision and made it manageable and doable. Let’s see if we can form this morning habit and if it leads to any healthy outcomes.
